As the calendar page turns to March 2012, many of you will be thinking about spring breaks and budding flowers when this issue of SIG 1’s Perspectives on Language Learning and Education arrives in your virtual mailbox. Before you head to sunnier climates or pick up that gardening spade, I would like to bring to your attention some opportunities to impact ASHA activities. SIG 1 affiliates are dynamic, creative individuals, and we would love to see you at Convention in Atlanta this November. In addition, if you have suggestions for systematic reviews that you would like to have submitted by SIG 1 for consideration by the National Center for Evidence-Based Practice (N-CEP) and the Advisory Committee on Evidence-Based Practice (ACEBP), please contact one of your SIG 1 representatives very soon. Also, March finds your SIG 1 Coordinating Committee members preparing for our annual face-to-face meeting at the ASHA National Office in April. If you have topics that you would like to see included as we plan more continuing education and Convention activities, please let us know. Your issues and interests are our highest priority as we work to provide continuing education events that address your practice concerns.
