Spring is perennially hailed as time of renewal and regeneration. As the Earth warms again and foliage greens once more, we prepare soil for gardens and refresh lawns. During this season, many of us also feel the call to update our knowledge base and freshen our professional practices. It is with this focus in mind that your SIG 1 Coordinating Committee and Perspectives Editorial Board have prepared this issue of SIG 1 Perspectives on Language Learning and Education. As always, our primary objective is to provide timely continuing education information that is keenly focused on the needs of active practitioners.
