Division 1 continues its tradition of bringing you opportunities for professional learning and high quality CE offerings. For this year’s ASHA Convention, we are focusing on early intervention; Luigi Girolametto and Elaine Weitzman of the Hanen Center in Toronto will be presenting our Pre-Convention Clinical Workshop, on Wednesday November 18th, from 1:00 to 5:30 pm. This is offered for .4 CEUs. I hope those of you in the New Orleans area or those coming to the ASHA Convention can take time to attend. The Hanen program is long established and evidence-based. It emphasizes a parent training model of early language stimulation for children with developmental disorders and language impairments. The title is “Parent Programs That Work! The Efficacy of Parent Training for Preschoolers With Language Disorders.” Access the agenda and registration form online at http://www.asha.org/members/divs/div_1.htm Note: Division 1 affiliates get a steep discount on registration fees, at least equal to the cost of your annual affiliation dues.
