I am delighted to be writing this very first column as your new Coordinator for Division 1. I am following in the footsteps of your outgoing Coordinator, Amy Weiss, who has moved up in the world to become the Chair of the Board of Division Coordinators. Other changes on the Steering Committee (SC) include the rotation off the committee of Deb Harman and the election of two new members to fill the spaces left by Deb and Amy. We are sad to lose two such dedicated and able volunteers on behalf of Division 1, but are at the same time happy to welcome Lisa Hammett Price, who will be the new Web and e-mail list manager for Division 1 and LaVae Hoffman, who has been working with Deb Harman to master the intricacies of the grants process that Deb managed for us so ably these past 3 years. Judy van der Woude continues as Associate Coordinator and Betty Sutton as CE Administrator. We are pleased to have a mix of experienced and new team members working to meet the needs of affiliates. One final transition needs mention; with this issue, Perspectives has a brand-new Editor, Donna Boudreau. Donna has been working with outgoing Editor Trish Hargrove to ensure a smooth transition and to carry on the tradition of excellence that Trish established. A major change that Trish brought about under her editorship was moving to a system of peer review for Perspectives articles, a move made to ensure that articles continue to be of the highest quality. Donna and I are very excited to be bringing you this collection of articles on response to intervention. A debt of gratitude is owed to guest editors Laura Justice and Anita McGinty for bringing their expertise to us and recruiting an outstanding set of contributors on this timely and clinically relevant topic. We hope you find this first “green,” Internet-only Perspectives to be as much on the cutting edge as the technology that was used to produce it.
