For many of you, summer marks a respite between school years or academic semesters. Whatever your situation, I hope you all find it to be a restorative season.
To kick off your summer’s professional reading, we offer an intriguing set of articles on AAC and Literacy. The Guest Editor of this issue, jointly created with Division 12 (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), is Beth Foley of Utah State University. We hope you will find this information useful and thought provoking, and we thank Beth and her contributors for their work.
I hope many of you, as Division 1 affiliates, took advantage of the opportunity to register for the ASHA Schools Conference at reduced Division 1 rates! As a sponsor of the meeting, Division 1 was able to offer this great benefit to affiliates and to have a table at the meeting, “manned” by Steering Committee (SC) members Deb Harman, who is in charge of our grant programs, and Judy Vander Woude, our CE Administrator.
