A continuing feature of the Division 1 Newsletter is the annual Chat Corner with a school-age focus. We are pleased to feature comments from Diane L. Eger Program Administrator of Speech-Language, Hearing and Vision for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit in Pittsburgh, PA. Eger not only is responsible for the work of over 150 professionals in her unit, but she contributes to the professional development of countless others through consultation with school districts across the country, workshops and seminar presentations. She joins us in this issue of the newsletter to discuss aspects of IDEA ’97, especially outcome measurements, which impact speech-language pathologists serving in a school setting.
