For the third year, Division 1 is excited to offer funding in partial support of research projects being carried out by master’s or doctoral level students who are Division 1 affiliates. For this funding cycle, the Division has allocated one $1,500 grant for student research. High priority will be given to research leading to evidence-based practice. Written proposals in the format described below should be submitted on or before September 20,2004.
Funding criteria are:
  • The research study can be part of the student’s master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation; it can also be a research project independent of the student’s thesis or dissertation.

  • The proposal contains the required information.

  • Dissemination must include at a minimum a written summary of the project for the Division 1 Perspectives on Language Learning and Education.

  • Those grant awardees who submit their research to the 2005 ASHA Convention and have their proposal accepted will be awarded an additional $500 to support their travel to the Convention.

  • Budget is to be an accurate reflection of needs to help support the proposed research.
