Division 1 will be providing affiliates with several opportunities for continuing education as well as funding opportunities for research in 2003. First, we will offer a Clinical Skills Workshop prior to the ASHA Convention for the third year in a row. If you have not participated in the past, I encourage you to do so. In response to the numerous requests from affiliates regarding more information in the area of autism, this year we will be featuring Dr. Fred Volkmar, a child psychiatrist and world renown expert in autism spectrum disorders and his colleague, Dr. Kathleen Tsatsanis. The workshop, titled “Assessment and Intervention Issues in Asperger’s Syndrome,” will be held on Wednesday, November 12, from 1-5:30 p.m. in Chicago. (See the flyer attached to this issue for more information.) Division 1 Affiliates attend at a discounted rate for .4CEUs. Please see the description and registration form attached to this issue of Perspectives.
