The Clinical Issues section of this issue of Perspectives on Language Learning and Education focuses on vocabulary intervention and its relationship to literacy. Guest Editor Barbara Ehren has assembled an impressive collection of informative and clinically relevant papers synthesizing the literature on this emerging and important topic. The authors have devoted particular attention to the translation of research findings into practice recommendations and guidelines. I believe that clinicians reading this issue will find that the authors have succeeded in these attempts and that the summaries, recommendations, and guidelines will facilitate the tasks of keeping current and undertaking evidence-based practice.
