This Tutorial is a continuation of the Evidence-Based Practice, EBP, Tutorial presented in the May issue of Perspectives on Language Learning and Education.
EBP Tutorial #1 provided an overview of the five EBP steps and a more thorough description of Steps #1 and #2. For these initial tutorials, the focus will be on procedures associated with intervention; subsequent tutorials will focus on assessment and, if warranted, on prognosis. Readers who are confident of their ability to critique the validity of research may consider skimming or disregarding this tutorial. It is presented here as a review and to familiarize readers with terminology that will appear in the EBP Review form in the October issue of Perspectives.
